BE THANKFUL

Diamond has been running a series of thanksgiving post on her blog for sometime now and I have been reading the comments on the post and they have been inspiring also a lot of the comments also gave me reason to be thankful to God for life,my family and friends.Reading the posts made me remember one of my best songs way back titled "Yahweh is for Us" by Maranatha Singers ... I hope am right.I have been trying to get the CD,so if anyone knows the song, please share...I just realised that I still remember the lyrics of the song are

"Sing a song of victory
Shout aloud on to our God
Who is like the living God
Yahweh is for us
Tell of all his faithfulness
Our lives has been restored
Halleluyah we'r blessed
Yahweh is for us "lets praise him"

He hears! he hears every faithful prayer
He sees! he watching with tender care
he knows! He knows every pain we bear
From the highest heavens his mercies flow to the end of the earth his people know
Yahweh is for us!!!

Cant remember the whole second verse.

Well in short I thank God for what he has done, has been doing,is doing right now and for what he has in stock for me as well.

Some jokes for some good laffs

For all y'all that use your relatives to lie when trying to get off work.
This was a conversation between an employee and his boss.

"Do you believe in life after death?" the boss asked one of his employees.

"Yes, Sir." the new recruit replied.

"Well, then, that makes everything just fine," the boss went on. "After you left early yesterday to go to your grandmother's funeral, she stopped in to see you

A man and his ever-nagging wife went on vacation to Jerusalem. While

they were there, the wife passed away. The undertaker told the husband,

"You can have her shipped home for $5,000, or you can bury her here, in

the Holy Land, for $150." The man thought about it and told him he

would just have her shipped home.

The undertaker asked, "Why would you spend $5,000 to ship your wife

home, when it would be wonderful to be buried here and you would spend

only $150?"

The man replied, "Long ago a man died here, was buried here, and three

days later he rose from the dead. I just can't take that chance."

MY OGBONO SOUP WITH POUNDED YAM ------ $10

BUTT CHEEKS SHOW IN LAS VEGAS ---------$45

TRYING TO WRITE A TEST TO GET A JOB ------- PRICELESS

No, it’s not a political rally, neither is it a Refugee Camp nor did it happen in Rwanda .It is very much a “Nigerian Thing”.
It's a picture of applicants scrambling to write an Employment Test @ Fototek Plaza, Opebi Ikeja,Lagos,Nigeria.
This was "INTERCONTINENTAL BANK TEST SOME WEEKS BACK IN IKEJA" a friend just sent the picture to me o.Said police had to disperse the mammoth crowd with teargas!

If this is true then "Nigeria We Hail Thee"

Have a nice weekend y'all!!!

The second verse of that song is a bit tricky, but I remember it was something like:

All the idols of this age
Come from the world of lies
Nothing in their wooden hearts
Yahweh is for us
They cannot meet our needs
They cannot hear our cries
Only Yahweh intervenes
Yahweh is for us.

I'm sure I got some of that wrong, but it was something like that. But I think the song was by Panam Percy Paul. Or maybe he dubbed it from the Maranatha singers...

That your ogbono soup and iyan looks good o, and I don't even like ogbono sef.

Nice post... perfect for the weekend. Enjoy the wedding.

What the hell kind of job is that? i really want to know what position the testing was for? CEO OR COO? 'Cuz that is the only position i can think of that would motivate people to stand out there in the scorching sun, probably dehydrated, piled together like sardines.

Kai!!! that is pure sufferhead....at its finest, if may add. Mehn! it hurts to see people in situations like that. Wish there were more opportunities in that country. If i may ask, how many where hired out of the multitude that applied?

That pix of ur ogbonna had me salivating badly, u sure say na u cook am sha? Good job, i'm proud of u. As for the job exam, that's just plain sad. Why use teargas on them? If they turn to miscreants now, na wahala. At least, they're tryna get a job. You and ur jokes, eh. Using family to lie, that's classic. My mum once had this secretary. If it's not her mum that's dead today, it's her grandmum or dad. She forgot she once told my mum that her grandmum died, she was going to use that line again. Anyways, enjoy urself and have a blessed weekend.

Since Panam Percy was mentioned here, please does anyone know some old songs of his? I can't remember the title but one was something like "we are looking for the true Nigerian", and another "Jesus is the rock, he will never fail" and "Ordinary love" which went like "...so make we learn to love, no be ordinary love. Like Jesus say, say make you come to me." I have been searching for these to no avail. Please if anyone recognizes any of these songs, please let me know on here as I will be checking back. Naijabloke, I love your blog! I will have to bookmark so I can visit more. That soup makes my mouth water and makes me homesick.

naijabloke, I stumbled on your blog while DESPERATELY looking for the lyrics of the song you posted. After typing in different word combis in google, somehow, your blog came up as an option. Mehn, many thanks. But do you know the title of the track so I can fish it out from Maranatha singers' archive.

I know this is a response to an old post but...who knows...?

Come from a world of lie
Nothing in them wouldn't hurt
Yahweh is for us
They can not see our needs

I'm also looking for the CD. On it we have also "we place thee, on the highest place" and several nice praise songs, the king of praise that shifts you with no protocol straight to the throne. I lost my own and have been looking for it since then

I didn't know that they were by Panam Percy, but we had the tape "Nigeria, I Love You" that we listened to a lot growing up. I also have been looking for those songs!
The only other one I can remember though is "Living in the City"
If I find anything else or go home so I can look at the tape I'll post here again.
